Solo exhibition at the City Gallery in the Harrison Center
‘Shamira Wilson creates minimal abstract work that explores textile motifs. Inspired by the African Diaspora, her work alludes to the storytelling qualities found in African American narrative textiles. With her current series, Shamira is documenting the story of the changes that are happening within the city infrastructure by using rusted metal to imprint grids onto fabric, leaving an impression reminiscent of quilts, maps, and city grids.’
Date & Time: Friday, October 4th, 6pm – 9pm
Location: Harrison Center, 1505 N Delaware Street, Indianapolis, IN
