This is your opportunity to see inside the working studios of internationally renowned creators who live and practice in Indianapolis, learn about their creative process, see their work and inspirations, and become a renewed lover of the Arts. Tours guided by the artist themselves, with an open q/a, and demonstrations when available.
Tours are free and open to the public but registration is required as space is limited. Addresses will be shared upon RSVP.
The July tour features Shamira Wilson, an interdisciplinary visual artist.
Shamira creates minimal abstract art that explores the repeat patterns of textile motifs. Her work alludes to the storytelling qualities found in narrative textiles. Fusing similarities in the language of graphic design, textiles, furniture, and architecture, her compositions express impressions left by the contemporary domestic, built, and natural landscape. Deadline to register is July 29, 2019 by 5p.
